My Points Daily Spin Has Moved!
I was so excited because we were supposed to get hard wood floors installed today, but when the installers came they said that they couldn't put them in because we have concrete under our current floor. We'll have to figure out what to do, but we were all set for it and have to change our plans. I just put the twins down for a nap and decided to do a few surveys.
1. I started out with My Points. If you log-in each day on MyPoints to do the Daily Spin, you may have noticed that at the beginning of this month, it was no longer on the front page. It took me a week to figure out where it went, but it is still there!!!

A Fun Freebie Shopping Day !
I had a really fun freebie day today! I am a special education teacher by day and my students live in a residential treatment facility for kids with special needs (most don't have much family involvement)so they don't get a whole lot of fast food meals. We happen to to have a trip off campus today so we had fun dressing up as cows for our free breakfast at Chick fil a on the way to our outing and lunch on the way back to school! I teach kids who are 15 to 21 so it's great for them to utilize freebies and coupons so they can learn to make the most of what little money they earn (and I'm just the girl to teach them-he he)!
Tonight I was able to stop off at Kmart. As I told all of you they are having a double coupon event (at most stores) on health and beauty items. They double coupons up to and including $2 coupons (up to $4 off per item). You can use 5 coupons per day using your Kmart rewards card. I had a few BOGO Gillette and Old Spice body wash coupons, which don't count towards the 5 per day total. I was able to snag 6 body washes~ 4 Gillette and 2 Old Spice, 2 Gillette Deodorants, 4 packs of 4 pack Rolaids ($4/2 coupon~ also didn't count towards total), 2 Pampers baby wipes (used $2 coupon,which did surprisingly double and 2 big bags of Reese's Cups (discounted to $1).
My total after coupons was $9.32
I got a reward coupon of $10 off of my next purchase because when you buy $35 of Proctor and Gamble products you get a $10 coupon.
So in the end I made $.68 on this shopping trip!! I was psyched. I didn't take a picture because I'm feeling lazy~sorry:(

Cut Your Utility Bills!
I spent some time yesterday calling my utility companies and getting reductions on my bill. My cable bill alone (which included the internet, cable and phone service) seemed to skyrocket lately and I am always looking to cut our family's expenses. My hubby and I had a "money meeting" the other night and we set some big goals for our family. We want to get debt free by October (except for the house). We then want to begin paying our house off (which will take a few more years).
One of the things we talked about was that we needed to continue to look for ways to cut our spending (again) so that we can divert money towards paying off the house. Just by making a few phone calls I was able to cut our utility bills by $110 per month. Try to remember to do this every 6 months or so as that seems to be how long promotional rates tend to last. I have found that with the economy being slow right now, companies are willing to deal in order to keep our business.
It's going to be a hot day today so while you're sitting in the AC (hopefully), make a few calls and see how much you can save your family.
