Target New Printable Coupons

I don't know if everyone knows about Target coupons.  You can print coupons off of Target's website.  The coupons change every other Sunday and they are good for a few weeks.  The great thing about this is that you can stack a Target coupon with a manufacturers coupon to score cheap items or in some cases free products.  I have even made a profit on items in the past and used the overage to pay towards other items I'm buying.  Also, Target recently began pricematching.  This enables the super shopper to get some extra good deals.  Make sure when asking for a price match that you have the competitors entire ad in order to qualify for it.  I am especially excited to tell you that Target has just released some bonus toy, household and electronics coupons.  One of the coupons is actually for an extra $50 off of a 46inch or bigger television.  There are several more to check out and you can print right from the website here . Also, if you forget to print your coupons at home, most Targets have a computer at the front of the store near the registry. You can access and print coupons right from this computer.  Enjoy! Happy shopping and don't forget to apply the money you save to paying off your family's debt!

I Overslept For Black Friday

I can not believe it, but I came home from Thanksgiving with my family, put the twins to bed and prompltly fell asleep before logging in with our family's newest financial goal as promised for last night.  Not only that, but I set my alarm clock for 3:15 in order to meet my sister at Toys R Us (I never leave the house without a shower) and turned it off without waking up this morning.  I didn't even hit the snooze button.  By some Black Friday miracle I woke up at 4, hopped in my clothes, brushed my teeth and screeched out of my parking spot bound for Toys R Us.  Luckily it's close by and I was there by 4:19.  We made out pretty good.  We hit the following stores: Toys R Us, JC Penney, Bath and Body Works, Chick Fil A (for a free breakfast- make that 2 free breakfasts-long story), 2 Best Buys, Walmart, Kmart and  Hallmark (another $5 free coupon).  I think I'm missing one because I thought the total was 10, but I'm still a little sleepy.  How did you do? Where did you find your best bargains?
Our new grand total for bill pay off is $81,657.52.  We actually toasted our student loan payoff  last night at the Thanksgiving table.  My hubby is so cute. He says he is the first person in his family to have good credit.  He's contemplating getting LIfelock because he doesn't want anyone to steal his good credit (that's hysterical to me :) ).  Anyway on to our newest financial goal.  I am setting a smaller short term financial goal out of necessity.  I got a disturbing letter the other day from my mortgage company.  It seems as though without our knowing it our insurance company doubled our premium on our homeowners policy because of a claim we had last year.  Not only that, but if we don't pay $1628.46 by January 28th our new mortgage payment will be almost $150 more per month.  If we can pay that lump sum off by then we will just have  a small monthly increase until next year and then they will look over our policy again (if we don't have any more claims).  So there you have it- I not only have to get through the holiday season without any new debt, I also have to come up with $1628.46 by the end of January.  When we do this (if we can), I will plan for our next financial goal.

How are you doing with your financial goals this holiday season? Are you keeping it a cash Christmas( as much as possible)? Have you come up with a short or long term goal for your family so you can get it in gear and get out of debt?

Check back in later tonight because I have tons of great deals for you. I will be posting them after 9 when I get the girlies settled for the night!

Student Loan- Amount Due: $0.00

All I can tell you is that I woke up this morning planning to write that we would have to wait until Friday to pay the balance of my husband's student loan off.  We still owed $2,632.56 of the original $30,000 loan amount (it's been a long year of sacrafice getting to this point). I was a little bit disappointed because I wanted the symbolism of sitting at the Thanksgiving table and having this paid off debt to be thankful for.  Maybe that seems a little bit silly, but to me it mattered.  Anyway, when going over our account and uncleared debits, I was a little bit uneasy about paying off the debt without actually having enough to cover it in the bank.  It would probably be fine as we were scheduled to get a direct deposit on Friday morning, but you never know what could happen and I didn't want to risk bouncing anything.

When I checked our account after lunch, I was ecstatic to see that our direct deposit went through early because of the holiday.  I was so excited.  I actually waited until around 3:30 to send the payment. I wanted my hubby to be with me so we could push the send payment button together. He really couldn't believe it was finally over.  He has been paying Chase for 12 years on this account.  They charged him outrageous amounts of money in interest charges and damaged his credit rating.  We recently found out that his fico score improved 120 points over the past year because of our efforts with this debt.

This brings our total debt paid off to $81,657.82.  That's an astounding accomplishment.  I can't believe we actually did it.  We are not done yet, but we are getting closer.  I will announce our next financial goal tomorrow night.  I think it is fitting since it will be Thanksgiving and that's when we started this goal last year.  For tonight I will dream about our $0.00 balance that I am so thankful for.  What are your financial goals for your family? Where do you want to be 1 year from tomorrow?  I challenge you to come up with at least one goal to work on. You could choose to pay off your credit cards, a vehicle or a student loan.  You could choose to fund your children's college account.  It's up to you. You could start off with a smaller goal to build a small emergency fund should you need it. What will you choose? Don't limit your future? Live for today, but don't neglect to plan for tomorrow.

Black Friday Extravaganza

I've brought you some of the Black Friday deals available, but I thought I'd recap some of the big store sales.  I personally am more impressed with the freebies we can get at the drug stores than the discounts available at the bigger stores.  I guess free or money makers are my "thing".  The girls are only 2 so they aren't really old enough to ask for anything yet (I'm sure that will end soon enough so I'll enjoy it while I can !) so I am undecided about exactly what I want to buy.  I've gotten several small items for each of them, but I may get them a little kitchen as their big gift.  I'm still thinking about it.  How about you? What are you hoping to buy for your little kiddies? Are you making your list and checking it twice?  Here is a little bit of help as far as who is offering what:
JCPenneys
Open at 4am(Did I really get up that early last year? I must have blocked it out!).  Early shoppers will get a Disney snow globe while supplies last and a $10 off coupon to use on Saturday 11/28.  Here is the link to the full JCPenneys ad.
Kohl's
Kohl's will open at 4am on Black Friday.  You will a $10 gift card for every $50 you spend (can be used as early as 11/30).  Here is the link to the Kohl's Black Friday Ad!
Kmart
Open at 6am.  Here is the link to the Kmart Black Friday ad.
Toys R Us/Babies R Us
Open at 12midnight.  The doorbusters last until 1pm.  The first 250,000 customers nationwide buying the Crayola 64ct crayons with their other items will get the crayons for free. Here is the link to the Black Friday ad.
Walmart
Open at 5am. Doorbusters last until 11AM. Here is the link to their Black Friday ad.
Best Buy
Open at 5am.  Tickets will be handed out as early as 3am for select items.  Here is the link to the Best Buy Black Friday ad.

***I wish everyone lots of fun shopping on Friday.  I'll  be up before the crack of dawn with most of you.  Just remember that because something is on sale doesn't mean you should buy it if you can't afford to.  Try to avoid pulling out the credit cards.  Pay cash or debit whenever possible and make sure you are celebrating the holiday while still being true to your long term goals for your family. I'm not trying to be a downer I just want you to think further ahead than December 25th.  You'll be glad you did (in January and beyond!).

Our Deadline is Tomorrow Yikes !!

Well Thanksgiving is almost here isn't it? As a matter of fact tomorrow is the last banking day before Thanksgiving so I have to plan for succeeding or failing at our current financial goal.  Our current goal is to pay off my husband's student loan originally $30,000 (now $2,632) by Thanksgiving.  We are so close.  Here is my dilemma- I may be able to squeak out this payment by counting change (maybe looking under a few couch cushions to do so), cashing in a few small instant win scratch off tickets and depositing a check from P&G ($20) for a rebate I did last month.  If I am able to scrape (and I do mean scrape) up the money needed to send off for this bill, we will be poor (penniless) for a few days.  We get paid on Friday morning sometime (via direct deposit).  This will seriously curtail my Black Friday shopping.  I could wait and make the last payment on Friday instead, but I like the symbolism of paying it off before Thanksgiving.  I have to give it some thought today.  If you have any ideas use the contact me link.  I can use all the advice I can get :)

It's very funny- I was telling my husband last night that our goal last Thanksgiving was to pay off our 2006 mini van.  I actually had the same decisions to make then.  The only difference was that we did not have direct deposit so I had to run to my work to get the check in time to make it to the bank when they opened.  They actually cleared the payment 45 minutes after I put the money in WHEW !!  This year is a little different because I would have to rely on the direct deposit system.

Try to make a goal for your family for this Thanksgiving.  Since it is getting close to the holiday plan an initial goal like listing all of your debts, balances and dates due.  This is the first step to getting out of debt.  The next step is to put $1000 in an emergency fund for life's little mishaps.  Set a date when you hope to have both of these things accomplished.  You are then on your way to making things better for your family.

The Giveaway ends in 7 days! Read about it here .  Good luck!

Walgreens Paid Me $6.64 To Shop Today !!

I had a fabulous shopping trip to Walgreens this moring.  They actually paid me to shop.  I LOVE IT !!  They have a $5 off of a $25 purchase coupon here which is good for today and tomorrow only so hurry on over there.  The coupon is good after coupons so you're better off doing deals that give you register rewards to utilize them to the fullest.  I did 2 separate transactions of a little over $25each so that was $10 savings right off the bat.  Here's an idea of what I got so you can plan your trip !!

  • 4 boxes of Wheat Thins + 1 box of Ritz crackers =5/$10-$3RR=$7 then use two $1/2 coupons from the Diabetes and You Walgreens  Coupon Book- Finally use four$1/1 coupons from the 11/8 SS.  This makes all five boxes $1.

  • 6 six ounce Lubriderm Lotions @$3.99ea= $11.97 minus $1 coupon from the Diabetes & You coupon book (by the pharmacy)-will deduct $3 because you are buying 3= $8.97. Then you will get an $8 Register Reward.

  • Coffeemate creamer is on a BOGO sale.  I got a coupon for one free one when I emailed them to tell them how much I like their creamer.  That makes for 2 free ones for me today.  2 @ $2.49 minus BOGO minus coupon = 2 for free.  You can email them here to tell them that you like their creamer to get your own coupon for a free one!

  • Kleenex Tissues sale price $1.39 minus $.50 in ad coupon =$.89 minus $.75 printalbe coupon here (says Kmart, but prints as a regular Man Q)=$.14 tissues.

  • Walgreens has their gift sacs (lunch bag size with cute holiday designs) 10 /$1 with in ad coupon.  These are the perfect size to wrap the Bath and Body hand wash from last weeks Bath and Body sale.  I happened to pick up some tissue paper at 3/$1 last week too.  These are also good as a filler. As you may or may not know you can only use one coupon per item at Walgreens so to get 10 items for $1 really helps out in that department. To recap 10 gift sacs =$1

  • Triaminic Cough and Cold Strips 2/$10 - $5 RR = $5 then use the $2 coupon from the Healthy savings booklet (in store coupon book usually with the circulars).  This will deduct $4 since you are buying 2.  Finally use the $3/2 coupon from the 10/18SS.  This makes the Triaminic a $2 money maker. Even if you don't have the Smart Source coupon it's still only $1 for 2 cough and cold products ( less when you consider the $5/$25 coupon).

  • Campbells Healthy Harvest Soup Bowls- I got 3 for $.75 each after using the in ad coupon in combination with this coupon .  You have to buy 3 to get them for $.75 each.

My total after my $10 coupons ( two $5/$25) was $9.36.  I used register rewards to pay for my items.  I then got back $ 16 new register rewards for next time!  Walgreens paid me $6.64 to shop today!  It's a little bit of organizing to do a deal like this, but it's really worth it when you are trying to pay your family's debt down.  We are hoping to pay off my husband's $30,000 student loan off by Thanksgiving ! We should be able to if all goes well, but I really can't spend any money this week so it's nice when a store actually pays me money to shop! Follow our journey.  If we succeed on this goal this week I will post our next debt challenge on Thanksgiving night.  All of these little savings add up to the big debts being paid off for yor family !!
