When you are grocery shopping, it's a good idea to make a little notebook of your "stock up " price for products you buy regularly.  In the notebook write the lowest price you find for these products.  Write it in pencil so you can erase it when you find a new lowest price. 

Let me give you an example. I only use Scott toilet paper for my family.  My stock up price is $.50/roll.  This price comes along about every 6 weeks.  I buy enough when it's on sale to last until the next sale.
